Common thyme

Highly aromatic and widely used in various meat and fish dishes, common thyme also has excellent medicinal properties. It is often used for problems related to the airways, as the plant has anti-inflammatory and anti-septic qualities. It likes well-drained soils and it is very resistant to high temperatures. Like lemon thyme, it must be pruned regularly to prevent it from becoming woody. As a shrub, it can reach 30 to 40 cm in height. An excellent choice for gardens as it requires minimal watering, and when it is well pruned, it forms attractive compact balls.
